We'd like as many people as possible to contribute to the display, in particular personal thoughts and experiences which help raise awareness of the young people Action for Children aim to help.
We have an official Twitter user @bytenight2009 which you may like follow to keep up with news and hear the results of the auction. Adding the text "bytenight" to your tweet means it will show up in a Twitter search and therefore appear on the display. You might also like to add a hash so your tweet will automatically include a link to find others using #bytenight when displayed on twitter.com. The display will also pick-up photographs posted to Twitter using the twitpic, yfrog and img.ly services which include a mention of "bytenight".
Photographs posted to Flickr mentioning "byte night" will show up on the display. You might like to also tag your photos with "bytenight" and "bytenight2009".
Our official YouTube Channel includes videos made for, and favourited by, Action for Children. Videos uploaded to YouTube tagged with "bytenight" or including the text "byte night" and will crop up in YouTube search and consequently appear on the display.
Join our Facebook Group where you can keep up with news, post photos and videos and write on our wall.
We encourage people to write blog posts about Byte Night to link to the bytenight.org.uk website, and include the text "Byte Night" to ensure they crop up in a blog search.
Please take the time and care to think about content you tag with "bytenight". Messages and photographs displayed on the board will include attribution to the publisher, so make sure that the content is yours and appropriate to the goals of the event and is sensitive to the young people we aim to help. As explained above, content is taken from searching the Web, therefore Action for Children cannot take responsibility for anything shown on the display.
